Wine Tasting New Series - November / December 2008
A new series of Fine Wine Tastings will be held in the Wine Board on Friday evenings during November and early December. Back by popular demand, these tastings represent a wonderful opportunity to taste and learn about many of the best wines in the world in the company of wine expert Nigel Donnan. Nigel has lectured for the Wine Board for over ten years and is very passionate about his subject. These fascinating and exciting fine wine tastings will linger long on the palate and in the memory.
Please note that Wine Board Gift Vouchers may also be purchased for Fine Wine Tastings. All tastings cost €65 per person and will be held in the Wine Board, 14 Whitefriars, Peter's Row, Aungier Street, Dublin 2 on Friday evenings from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Details of the Fine Wine Tasting evenings in this series are as follows:
Bordeaux-Review of Top Chateaux. 21st November 2008.
A meticulous overview of some of Bordeaux's top names and wine producers. We'll be tasting wines from such world famous names as Domaine de Chevalier (Pessac-Leognan), Chateau Haut Marbuzet (Saint Estephe), Chateau d'Angludet (Margaux), Chateau Leoville Barton (Saint Julien) concluding with the wine from the legendary Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Premier Cru Classè (Pauillac).
Red Burgundy. 28th November 2008.
An examination of the different styles produced in France's most enigmatic wine region. The home of the Pinot Noir grape, Burgundy produces some of the most elegant and sublime red wines of the world. A comprehensive range of wines will be tasted on the night from throughout the Cote d'Or incorporating both Premier and Grand Cru vineyards.
White Burgundy. 5th December 2008.
Burgundy produces some of the most powerful and complex white wines in the world and we'll taste a range of them incorporating both Premier and Grand Cru vineyards from some of the most renowned producers.

Wine tasting tutorials 2009
All distance learning students MUST complete a wine tasting tutorial (included in the course cost) prior to sitting the WSET Intermediate Certificate & WSET Advanced Certificate exam.

Re-sit exam dates 2009

The re-sit exam dates for 2009 will be:
27th February 2009
26th June 2009
30th October 2009
The exams will be held in the Wine Board, 14 Whitefriars, Peters Row, Aungier Street, Dublin 2.
Please note the following:
We order all exam papers 10 working days in advance of the exam date.
If you wish to change the date of your exam you must inform us at least 10 working days in advance of the original exam date so that we can cancel your order.
Please note that we will charge you €20.00 (unused paper fee) if you fail to notify us of your change of date at least 10 working days in advance of the original exam date.

WSET Diploma 2008/10
Over the last few years we have noticed that the Diploma course has become more demanding in terms of the time available to students to complete individual units. Consequently, we have redesigned our delivery of this course.
